Marnin,
Thank you for keeping the book til monday. I want to say that your web site is hands down the BEST site their is on comic books. Your new features are very easy to follow and understand.
One of the best things about your site is that you always update it. I check it out a least once a week, and I look forward too see the new items for sale. Your policy of giving everbody a fair shot at any new books that you are selling is one of the main reasons why you are my favorite dealer out there. I buy from a number of other dealers around and feal that I am getting left overs from other peoples pickings.
One thing that I will suggest that you might add to your web site is a market report, it is something that people like myself who are not around comics all the time like hearing what is going on.
Thank you,
Ron

Hello Marnin,
Just got the books today. Awesome! The AS 31 and X 17 have been such tough issues for me to find in high grade. Grading the latter is tough, though, because of that stress in the upper right corner. It's so minor that it could be 9.2 or 9.4. But since I'm holding onto it, I guess we'll never know!
Thanks, Ray |

Marnin:
They are indeed beautiful! Seeing these books in this state of preservation is more than homecomming, which it is with an almost acheing nostalga for me - but a personal confirmation that will always be an invisible force in the world with zealous and gentle, cartaking hands to preserve them. When I see books of such outward frailty kept as was the first day fresh, it confirms that I am not alone in holding many of these Marvels, but particularly, the Kirby/Lee stories, as enduringly human and epic landscapes which never dim, never seem less alive as something etched in the memory from keenest childhood.
When I lament that I had to relinquish a Fantastic Four #48, which I had in then graded NM/M, and then look with relish at the pages of these books, I can only say that somethings can improve in time and age, if you are patient and fortunate. Indeed, these pages are fresher, and you have again spoiled me for all future feasts with which I will have to compare this one. This fellowship is more than the commerce of treasures, but an always hopeful re-kindling of a fragile nostalga which cannot perish, but can only grow stronger when spoken for with your eyes and hands, because you believe that these events are daily possible!
-Chris
P.S. #1: Please feel free to use this note in your website pages: as much as I would not in practical terms wish to make it more difficult for me to acquire books - to quicken the competition - in the end, the more that individual collectors esteem your work for being unique, the more likely that they will think of you as I do, and so reduce all other outward currents in towards you.
P.S. #2 : Are Fantastic Four Nos. #41 and #42 NM 9.4 still available, and are they good candidates for me? |

Marnin,
I just wanted to drop you a note about the shipment I received from you.
"Awesome," is my response to the order!
I've had a chance to go through all the books, including popping open the CGC Journey Into Mystery #84, and I'm very happy with the books, particularly JIM #101 and Sgt. Fury #5. What nice copies!
I'm quite certain you'll have repeat business from me when the right books pop up on your website.
And, speaking of your website, it just seems to keep getting better! It's quite easy to navigate through and it's easy to find/see grades, prices and pictures of items.
A most sincere thanks,
Jeff |

Marnin,
I would like to thank you for the three comic books that I purchased from you. I am very impressed with the condition, appearance, and promptness of the books that I received. Here is some "customer testimony" that you can use on your website if you would like.......
Marnin Rosenberg is a true authority and professional when it comes to his products and customer service. At first I was hesitant to purchase non-CGC graded comics over the internet, however, with Marnin's long experience and strict grading standards I can absolutely trust every purchase that is not CGC graded. He has come through for me with every comic that I have bought, and I can assure that every comic he has up for sale is in the condition that he has assigned.
Thanks Marnin!

I received the Dark Mysteries #13 and it is a better example than I ever thought I'd find of this book. Add to this the reasonable price and your concern for my satisfaction, and I'm happy to say that I can add you without hesitation to my "short list" of dealers whom I feel I can get a fair shake from. Knowing this is almost as good a feeling as I get from looking at this great book - almost!
Thanks again. I don't know what the next book I'll get from you will be - but I'm sure it'll be great. Take care -

Hi Marnin,
I just received the Spiderman books today right after we talked. Thanks alot! They are real "beauties"! I've been seriously collecting for quite a few years now and I'd have to rate you in the top 5 dealers I've dealt with. Fantastic quality issues and you seem to be a great person also. I'll definitely be buying more in the future.
Thanks again,

Marnin,
I received the book today. It's a great book. Very glossy cover, white pages and only one minor defect that I can spot--that light indentation in the upper left corner. I'm really pleased with the book. I love purple covers. Can you possibly do me a favor? If possible, can you send me an e-mail when you have more of these 1960s Supermans for sale in high grade. I would really appreciate that. I know I can check out the website and I still subscribe to the CBG, but it's hard to remember to check every day. I will check occasionally though.
Great book!

Hey Marnin,
My first response upon receiving my order, a beautiful copy of Fighting Yank #15...VERY IMPRESSED
.....I've already recommended you to a few of my friends for your selection and accuracy of grading...
I'm actually jumping back into the collecting scene after a lengthy absence due to my frustration from trying to find quality material and the lack of dependability of grading from other dealers whom I choose not to mention. It was a very refreshing experience to find an honest dealer offering a great selection of Golden/Silver Age Comics at reasonable pricing rather than the inflated insanity brought on by CGC grading. Thank again and I look forward to purchasing more book from you and your company ComicCollectors.net.
Sincerely. Chris |

Subject: CGC graded books
Date: 04/04/2000

Dear Collectors Assemble:
I am writing to you in regards to a CGC slabbed and graded 9.4 NM Amazing Spiderman #100 and an Amazing #56 NM+ (graded by you) that I recently purchased. I will be returning the CGC book to you for several reasons which I will detail below.
One of the problems that I have with the book involves the casing which houses the comic. It would be impossible for me to verify/agree with any given grade without cracking the book out and inspecting the interior. I find it impossible to accurately grade a book from a buyers perspective by essentially only viewing the front and back covers. It is difficult for me as a discerning collector to take someone's word for it, no matter how "qualified", that interior pages are without defect, unless noted on a label. Regarding the book in question, the cover itself appears to be a NM- or NM cover. I believe the overall grade could very well be NM, as CGC suggests, but I simply cannot make that determination without further inspection of the comic.
I understand that the book can be re-holdered for a minimal fee, to allow one to take the book out of the holder. Though this does seems practical, however, from a buyers perspective, one could not do so without violating return policies (for fear of switched books). Even in the event that I agreed with the grade, and was entirely satisfied with the book, extra time and money would be tied up in order to have the book resealed.
Furthermore, while the comics from CGC are generally well packaged for shipping purposes, there is room for movement of the comic within the holder. Though this may seem slight, I am concerned about the potential impact that this could have on covers which may slightly overlap page borders. I can forsee where an otherwise razor sharp cover could be slightly dinged by repeated handling and movement of the comic against the plastic side. I know from experience that handling in both the USPS and UPS is anything but "gentle". My point is that nothing compares to a comic placed in a mylar, and secured between two pieces of cardboard. I believe this affords the comic much more protection.
I believe that CGC offers an excellent service in their restoration check of all comics they grade. Perhaps CGC or someone else in the industry could explore an exclusive restoration check service. It is for the reasons stated above that I will be returning the CGC graded comic to you, intact in its sealed holder. Furthermore, it is likely that I will never again purchase a CGC graded book.
Before I forget, the Amazing Spiderman #56 that I purchased from you graded NM+, was in my opinion, the most accurately graded comic I have ever purchased. It will remain in its mylar with my own "label" of NM+. Thanks for your reliable grading. I look forward to expanding my collection with your assistance.
Sincerely,
Lawrence |
